Governance and Relationship Management

Negotiating a partnership agreement with sound contract language and proper financing terms are both key steps in any agreement, however, one area that is constantly overlooked is establishing a strong governance framework. CORE research has indicated that partnership agreements without a governance framework can lose a tremendous amount of money through poor governance. This can lead to providers spending extra money to salvage and agreement, or consistently unhappy clients. – Neither side of the agreement is satisfied.

Understanding the risk factors that can come into play throughout the entire partnership agreement is essential to determining the overall success of an agreement.

Sourcing for Digital Transformation:

Increasingly organizations rely on external service providers to assist in business processes or IT operations. In past decades, this was called outsourcing, as organizations moved assets, people and processes to outside vendors, and created contracts to buy the service from those vendors over an extended period. That practice continues today; however, the emphasis has shifted from outsourcing legacy/traditional services, to outsourcing for digital transformation (DX).  Organizations  recognize the importance of DX in competing with others, especially regarding customer interactions.

DX requires a combination of skills that are not readily available in-house, so there is an increasing reliance on external DX providers, both product vendors and consultants.  Primary motivation for external DX is rapid delivery, innovation and reliable services. CORE’s Digital Transformation course outlines how companies must manage DX providers using different models than traditional outsource providers, emphasizing delivery of competitive DX capability  measuring business outcomes not cost reduction.
