CORE Communiqué April 2008
President's Message
Dear CORE Members and Friends,
As we head into our annual conference on April 17th, CORE reaches a significant milestone in its governance structure.
Our by-law has been revised to move us from a founding member decision making organization to a voting members at large organization,
with an elected Board and Board terms. This exciting change will positively impact the membership and I encourage the CORE members to attend
this first annual meeting.
April also marks the start the planning process for next fiscal year. One of the first steps to begin this work is the
annual satisfaction survey, which so many of you have already completed. We will share the survey results with you later
this month and we will be using the information to assist in the drafting of the program and services for the new year. I encourage you to
take a moment to complete the survey over the next few days. Link to survey
Our conference agendas have been very active. The public sector forum in Victoria was very well attended with
160 participants with David Osborne, our keynote speaker sharing his strategies and experiences on transforming bureaucracies.
John Bethel had an opportunity to talk to David in a taped interview during the conference and it is available for viewing in the News section of our website.
Thank you to all our speakers, participants and our conference sponsor, EDS Canada. It was definitely a successful day.

Did you know that Canada ranks 30th in Healthcare system performance on global scale of 191 countries?
Not bad, although our system is under strain from a fiscal, demographic and technological perspective. On May 22nd, our healthcare
conference brings together experts in the healthcare industry to share their stories and discuss ways to improve the delivery of services.
It is shaping up to be an interesting agenda and we hope to see many of you at the conference.
This spring brings many opportunities to get involved with CORE, through the conference agendas and
attendance as well as through our executive education program running in May. I look forward to seeing you at
our annual conference on April 17th, a great opportunity to hear two exceptional speakers, Jeremy Rifkin and Leslie Willcocks.
Your suggestions and feedback are always welcome.
Best Regards, Molly Pellecchia
